Foster your student’s love for our unique and wonderful California environment by bringing your class to the Garden. Whether you come for a self-guided experience or book a program with our knowledgeable Garden Guides, you will leave feeling informed about and inspired by California’s native plants.

Self-Guided School Visits (TK-12)
The fee for a self-guided school group visit (no guides) is: $5 per child (3-12 yrs.), $11 per student (13+ yrs.), $7 per adult chaperone, and $15 per additional adult. We require one adult chaperone per five children (ages 3-12), or one adult chaperone per ten students (ages 13+). Adults beyond one chaperone per two children/students are asked to pay the $15 general admission rate. 8 children/students minimum.

How do I reserve a self-guided school visit?

To reserve a self-guided school visit (no guides), please fill out our Self-Guided Reservation Request Form. Please allow up to 3 working days after form submission to receive an email from the registrar regarding your reservation request and payment options.

Guided School Visits (TK-12)
Participation in a guided school program is a memorable, meaningful experience for students. Volunteer Garden Guides introduce, demonstrate and reinforce ideas included in K-8 Cross-Curricular Common Core Standards and Next Generation Science Standards for California Public Schools.  

The fee for a guided school group visit is: $6 per child (3-12 yrs.), $12 per student (13+ yrs.), $7 per adult chaperone, and $15 per additional adult. We require one adult chaperone per five children (ages 3-12), or one adult chaperone per ten students (ages 13+). Adults beyond one chaperone per two children/students are asked to pay the $15 general admission rate. 10 children/students minimum - 40 children/students maximum per guided school group visit.

Lower Elementary School (Grade TK-2)

Middle & High School (Grade 6-12)

We offer guided tours for middle and high school students depending on the availability of our staff and volunteers. Please email registrar@calbg.org with details about your class size, grade, and subject to learn of your options.

How do I reserve a guided school visit?

To reserve a guided school program (Grade TK-6), please fill out our Guided School Program Reservation Request Form. Please allow up to 3 working days after form submission to receive an email from the registrar regarding your reservation request and payment options.

To reserve a guided school tour (Grade 6-12), please email registrar@calbg.org for your options.

Advance reservations are required for guided school visits and must be confirmed and paid in advance before the visit date based on the deadline provided on the invoice.

Do you offer any grants for Title 1 schools?

Supplemental funds for guided school group visits are available to assist qualifying Title I schools with tour admission fees and/or transportation reimbursement. A reservation date and tour admission fees total must be confirmed prior to submitting a Supplemental Funds Application. Please fill out our Guided School Program Reservation Request Form to secure a reservation date.

Are you a home school looking for a more customized tour?

To reserve a guided tour for home schools, please fill out our Organized Youth Group Request Form and be sure to fill out information about your current curriculum. Please allow up to 3 working days after form submission to receive an email from the registrar regarding your reservation request and payment options.

Are you a camp or scout group looking for a guided tour?

To reserve a guided tour for scouts, day camps, or other youth organization, please fill out our Organized Youth Group Request Form. Please allow up to 3 working days after form submission to receive an email from the registrar regarding your reservation request and payment options.
