Class Dates: Class meets twice
Session 1: Saturday, February 28
Session 2: Saturday, March 7
The Barn Owl is native resident species of Los Angeles and has an enigmatic heart-shaped face. The Owl's natural beauty will be reflected in these adorable pillows woven using your creativity on a small hand-held loom. In this introduction to weaving workshop, we will make a Barn Owl Pillow made using basic weaving and embroidery techniques. In the first session, instructor Ellie of Mille Feuille Fiber Arts will teach you how to weave the owl shape and background, which will then be taken off the loom. In the second session, attendees will be able to use embroidery and sewing techniques to complete the Barn Owl tapestry that will be attached to an evergreen forest scented pillow. All materials will be provided, including the loom (yours to keep!), yarns, threads, and a unique blend of herbs and fragrance.
