Pride at the Garden: Queering CalBG’s Collections

Saturday

Jun

10 am - 11:30 am

Join Garrett, one of CalBG's botany graduate students, for an intro to queer botany and a tour of the garden’s botanical collections. Stops on the tour will highlight queer plant stories from CalBG’s archives and invite participants to (re)imagine botany from queer and decolonial perspectives. During the tour you will look closely at living plants, learn the stories of historical collections, and thoughtfully consider the field of botany's past, present, and future.

The tour will remain on flat, paved surfaces and can be adjusted based on mobility or accessibility requests. This is not an exclusively LGBTQ+ space and everyone interested in the subject is invited to participate!
