Introduction to the Sunflower Family (Asteraceae)
Asteraceae (the Sunflower family) is one of the most diverse families in California and the world, with literally hundreds of species.
In this fun introductory, hands-on class, we’ll explore the sunflower family from background information on the group to dissecting flower heads and learning how to identify them! You’ll never look at a sunflower the same way again. This class is perfect for nature lovers, science nerds, gardeners, or anyone who thinks plants deserve more love than they get.
Class will be taught by Samantha Ingram, CalBG Botany program graduate student.

How one flower = hundreds of tiny blooms
