Turn an ordinary tree branch into a loom!
Make a colorful and creative tapestry with nature as your partner. No prior experience is required. Instructor Ellie Park will first teach you how to warp a V-shaped tree branch into a loom using yarn, and then start your weaving using basic weaving techniques and colored pairs of yarns to transition from one color to another, ending with organic floral shapes. The session will conclude with finishing techniques to create the final wall hanging on a branch to proudly display on your wall. Branch weaving is a wonderful introduction to learn all steps needed to make many more designs on your own. All materials will be provided.
Please be forewarned, weaving is fun, relaxing, and may become your new favorite hobby!
About the Instructor
Ellie is a fiber artist who resides in the Inland Empire. She enjoys teaching students of all skill levels how to interpret different subjects such as famous art pieces, nature scenes, and architectural designs into tapestries that can be incorporated into wall hangings, aromatherapy pillow, and hand-made jewelry. Her workshops will expose students to the art, history, and techniques of weaving in order to guide students to express themselves creatively.
