The Garden is popping with summer color! We are thrilled to bring a little bit of our blooming garden right to your home! Follow along with us virtually as we go through how to arrange a beautiful arrangement using native flowers grown right here at California Botanic Garden. Linda Prendergast, head of Native Designs, a CalBG volunteer group that grows California native plants for use in exquisite flower arrangements, will walk us through how to skillfully arrange a fabulous floral showpiece. As you get to know the aesthetic characteristics of these beautiful flowers, CalBG staff will bring insight into the horticultural value and how to grow and maintain these native plants at home.
Event registrants will be able to pick up a bouquet kit with a rainbow of native blooms to work with for your bouquet. The kit will include everything you will need to make a professional arrangement, including flowers in a gathering bucket, an 8 inch vase, floral tape, decorative marbles, floral preservative and a bonus California Botanic Garden decal sticker. Pruning shears are not included (except in the VIP kit!) The virtual class will take place through Zoom on Sunday, June 14 from 3 pm - 4 pm and flower kits will be available for pickup on Saturday, June 13 (9 am - 1 pm) and Sunday, June 14 (9 am - 1 pm).
