The chaparral ferns that we collected last winter and spring have made it through the summer, and have been planted at two sites on the Garden grounds; just north of the Majestic Oak, and southeast of the small boojum tree in the plant communities. The point of the trials is to test for the ferns' viability as low-water-use alternatives to more commonly used water-loving ferns in our landscapes.
