The CalBG Horticulture and Nursery Staff have successfully collected the following species of chaparral ferns: Dryopteris arguta, Pentagramma triangularis, Pellaea andromedifolia, Pellaea mucronata, Myriopteris covillei, and Selaginella bigelovii (a fern ally). The ferns will be spending the summer in the CalBG nursery, and we will be planting them to test their viability as cultivated specimens beginning this fall.
