This is an all-levels workshop to help you learn how our bodies and nervous system function best with the goal of building healthier muscles and joints by stretching to increase the range of motion and add a bit of resistance.
Join us in this workshop led by Sarah Sawyer, certified yoga instructor, to gain insight into the different types of strength (isometric, concentric, and eccentric), muscle tone (short/weak, short/strong, long/weak, long/strong), and will review range of motion (active/passive) so we can better understand how we can have a more balanced body when we utilize a bit more active range of motion and end range engagement when we stretch our bodies. We will learn how to work towards long and strong muscles, emphasizing joint stability, in order to optimize how our body functions.
Sarah Sawyer is a certified yoga instructor based in the Inland Empire and is the founder of The Yoga Stream yoga studio. Sarah has been practicing yoga for over 16 years and has led more than 1,000 yoga classes. She loves practicing yoga in nature as it helps bring mindfulness and awareness beyond oneself and creates connection and community.
Please bring an outdoor friendly yoga mat, water, and an optional blanket or towel. Participants will be asked to sign a liability waiver form upon registration of the class. Space is limited so sign up today!
