Planning and Caring for a Southern California Rain Garden
While the weather is warm, it's time to think about rain!
Learn about the importance of developing and maintaining rain gardens in urban and residential areas. Join CalBG senior horticulturist Jennifer Chebahtah for a morning outdoors where you will explore the ins and outs of CalBG's rain garden beds. Using these working examples, discuss strategy for planning and installation, as well as plant recommendations for this unique landscape feature (which can be saturated in winter and dry in summer). These tips will align with local landscape rebate programs.
Please Note: Class time will include standing and walking at a moderate pace while we explore different rain garden areas. Please wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and dress for the weather.
