1 pm - 4:00 pm

Bring your favorite California native fauna to life in this animal illustration workshop! Participants will learn how to depict animal anatomy as well as techniques for rendering fur, feathers, and scales. Utilizing CalBG’s taxidermy collection, participants will have the opportunity to draw from observation, getting up-close to small mammals, birds, insects, and more. Additionally, we’ll talk a bit about the role of artists in scientific research today. Learn from Lilly Marinelli, a botanical illustrator, teacher, and recent CalBG Botanical Illustration intern.

Please Note: Class fee includes the materials needed to complete your piece of art. But please feel free to bring along your own preferred materials for adding color to art--this could be colored pencils, crayon, oil and chalk pastels, or others.
