Join us at the garden for Beginning Watercolor and build the foundational skills of painting that you need to work with watercolor paints. Aleta Jacobson, artist and instructor, will guide us through this two hour introduction to the medium. See below for a suggested materials and subject list.

Important Note About Materials: You will need to purchase and bring your own materials for this class. Below you will find a list of art materials that you will need as a beginning watercolorist. This set of materials will serve as a foundation for your painting and serve you well in this and future classes. The class will take place indoors. At this time masks will be optional according to the preference of the wearer, but we will let everyone know if our guidelines change.
Required supplies for Meditative Art: Beginning Watercolor on January 28, 2023
*Watercolors Pallet; Large enough to hold all paints and mixing areas.
*Watercolor Paint; Rose Madder, Permanent Red, Yellow Ochre, Raw Sienna, New Gamboge, Lemon Yellow, Indian Red, Burnt Umber, Olive Green, Sap Green, Pthalo Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Indigo. (I like Danial Smith but any good quality paint will work.)
*Watercolor Brushes; Round #4, #6, & #8. Flat 1” & 1/2” (Princeton brushes are a good quality and not too costly.)
*Watercolor Paper; 140lb, Cold Press 11”x15” Cut sheets to 7-1/2” x 5-1/2”(approx 5), 2-1/2” x 3-1/2” (approx 10) and full sheets (approx 2). (Canson watercolor paper is good quality but Strathmore 300 series is good also.)
*Paper Towels or Soft Rag
